Choosing the right location can make such a difference to the look and feel of your family photographs.
Some families love Singapore’s colourful heritage streets. Others feel most at home surrounded by tropical greenery, beside the sea or against the city’s iconic skyline. The most important thing is choosing somewhere that suits your family and gives your children space to relax and be themselves.
My family photo locations Singapore sessions last one hour and are designed to feel playful, personal and unhurried. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but there is no expectation for children to stand still and smile at the camera throughout the session.
We’ll create the family portrait everyone hopes for, while also capturing the laughter, movement, cuddles and little in-between moments that often become the favourites.
Here are five of my favourite locations for family photography in Singapore.
1. Fullerton & Marina Bay Sands: Iconic Views & Timeless City Style
For families who want their photographs to feel unmistakably Singaporean, the Fullerton and Marina Bay area offers an incredible mix of modern city views and elegant heritage architecture.
During one session, we can create relaxed photographs beside the waterfront, natural walking images with Marina Bay Sands in the background and more timeless portraits around the Fullerton area.
The variety is one of the things I love most about this location. Your final gallery can feel sophisticated without becoming too formal, with plenty of room for children to walk, play and interact naturally.
Early mornings work especially well here. The walkways are quieter, the temperature is cooler and younger children are often feeling fresh. Later sessions bring softer golden light and a lovely atmosphere as the city begins to glow.
This location is particularly lovely for families who are leaving Singapore and would like photographs that celebrate their time here, as well as those who simply love the city skyline.

2. Joo Chiat: Colour, Character & Heritage Charm
Colourful shophouses, quiet side streets and beautiful heritage details make Joo Chiat one of my favourite locations for relaxed family photographs. We’ll wander between a few carefully chosen backdrops, creating variety without making the session feel rushed. There will be time for the family portrait everyone hopes for, as well as plenty of laughter, movement and little moments between you.
Joo Chiat is particularly good for playful sessions. The colour and character of the streets bring energy to the photographs, while the covered walkways and softer heritage façades also allow us to create something calmer and more timeless.
Early mornings are ideal here. The streets are quieter, the temperature is cooler and younger children are often at their brightest and happiest.
This location works beautifully for babies, young children, teenagers, extended families and even family dogs. Every session can feel completely different depending on the streets, colours and details we choose.

3. Gardens by the Bay: Iconic Singapore, with Room to Play
With tropical greenery, open pathways and instantly recognisable Supertrees, Gardens by the Bay offers a wonderful mix of nature and modern Singapore. It is an excellent choice for families who want a strong sense of place without every photograph feeling like a traditional city portrait.
We’ll follow a carefully planned route so the session feels easy, particularly with younger children. There will be plenty of time for walking, playing and natural family moments, alongside a beautiful portrait of everyone together.
The surroundings give children room to explore, and the combination of greenery, walkways, water and architecture creates a varied final gallery.
Early mornings are especially lovely here, when it is cooler and quieter and little ones are feeling fresh and ready to explore. Later sessions offer softer light and a warm, atmospheric feel as the day begins to slow down.
Gardens by the Bay is perfect for families who want relaxed, natural photographs while still capturing a little of the Singapore they know and love.
Would Gardens by the Bay suit your family?
4. Singapore Botanic Gardens: Lush, Timeless & Made for Families
Leafy pathways, open lawns and the elegant white bandstand make the Singapore Botanic Gardens a beautiful choice for relaxed, natural family photography. During your one-hour session, we’ll move gently between a few carefully chosen areas, giving children space to explore, run and be themselves.
I’ll guide you into the family portrait everyone hopes for while also capturing the laughter, cuddles and little in-between moments that show your family just as you are now.
The combination of tropical greenery and white heritage architecture gives the photographs a timeless feel. It also provides plenty of visual variety without needing to cover a large distance, which is helpful for families with younger children.
Early mornings are particularly peaceful. The gardens are quieter, the temperature is cooler and little ones are often at their freshest. Later sessions bring softer light through the trees and a warm, gentle feel as the day begins to slow down.
This location is ideal for families who want greenery, heritage character and a gallery that feels both joyful and timeless.

5. Sentosa: Barefoot, Breezy & Full of Life
Soft sand, swaying palms and plenty of room to move make Sentosa a wonderful setting for relaxed family photographs. Beach sessions are naturally playful. Children can run, explore and cuddle up with you while I capture the laughter, movement and genuine connection between you.
I’ll also create a beautiful portrait of everyone together, without making the session feel stiff or overly posed. Early mornings are perfect for families with younger children. The beach is quieter, the temperature is cooler and little ones are often at their freshest, especially when they already have everyone awake early.
For families who prefer a later session, softer golden-hour light creates a warm, gentle atmosphere as the sun begins to set.
Sentosa is ideal for families who want their photographs to feel light, joyful and unmistakably tropical.

What Happens During a Family Photography Session?
Your session includes one hour of photography at your chosen Singapore location.
I’ll gently guide you throughout, so you never need to worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera. Sessions are relaxed and flexible, with time for children to move, play, settle in and simply be themselves.
Afterwards, you’ll attend a private viewing appointment where I’ll guide you through your photographs using easy, interactive software. You can compare images, choose your favourites and explore the available digital, framed and many other photo options.
The session fee includes your one-hour shoot and private viewing appointment. Photographs are selected and purchased separately afterwards, so you only buy the images you truly love.
Not Sure Which Singapore Location to Choose?
The best location is not necessarily the most famous one. It is the place that suits your family’s personality, your children’s ages and the kind of photographs you would love to display at home.
Just tell me a little about your family and whether you prefer an early-morning or later session. I’ll happily suggest the locations and timings that I think would work best for you.
And these five places are only a starting point.
Perhaps you have a favourite neighbourhood, beach, park or city spot. Maybe there is somewhere connected to your family’s time in Singapore, or a location that simply feels like home.
I’m always happy to discuss ideas and create a session somewhere meaningful to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a family photography session?
Sessions last one hour. This gives me enough time to create a varied gallery without the experience becoming too long for younger children.

The session fee includes the one-hour photography session and your private viewing appointment. Photographs are viewed, selected and purchased separately afterwards.

Absolutely. These are five of my favourites, but I’m happy to discuss other locations that feel special or meaningful to your family.
