We were recently approached by the parents of the Australian International School, in Singapore to photograph a fundraising event in aid of Cancer Research.
We immediately agreed to offer our services and to be involved in a cause that is very close to my heart after loosing a beautiful friend to cancer last year.
The event was put together by the lovely mums of AIS parents association and supported by so many wonderful people in Singapore. They organized a fantastic fashion show modeled by some of the mothers themselves. They had their hair and make up done professionally to get catwalk ready! They looked amazing and beautiful.
I felt humbled to be there and listen to one of the Mums who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. She bravely stood before us and told her story and shared her emotional journey. She is one of the lucky ones and now wants everyone to know about cancer and promote self-examination, together with raising awareness and funds to help us discover a cure for this terrible disease.
The statistics of cancer are scary and stop you in your tracks, 1 in 3 people will get cancer at some point in their lives.
The ladies raised over $10,000 that morning which is an outstanding achievement, big thank you to everyone who gave their time, skills and donations to making the event such a huge success.
We donated a free photography session to one lucky family and were so touched by the events of the morning that we decided to take it a step further and are now offering a donation of $100 to Cancer Research for every new booking we make till the end of August 2013. So if you are thinking of having some family photos taken this summer, you can do your bit and support this charity. Call us and mention AIS for the donation offer.
We were delighted to be there to capture some of the fun moments and the essence of the morning. I particularly loved the cake pops! Here are some photographs of the event.
